Introduction

We were viewing the news the other afternoon and the statistic which was flashing on the TV screen was nothing less than surprising. It mentioned 66% of young children in American grade 8 classes could not do mathematics. 66%! Soon after I let the announcement “sink in”, I started to ask myself questions such as “why is this taking place”, then the more powerful question, “what can most people possibly do about this”? I have thought about these types of things before, but it surely seems that the solution, one turning around math comic strips, is more vital now than it has ever been.

Being Competitive Along With The Entire World

With the turn of the century, we’re growing into a lot more a major international economy. Children no more contend with the kid in the table near to them, but with the child in a class on the other side of the world. They will have to be prepared in both reading and of course “math techniques”, as a way to contend together with land the truly amazing occupational opportunities of the future. In South Korea they care for those that tutor their young ones like “rock superstars”. We have to place this equivalent amount of importance upon our educators here in the United States.
