Some people think the techniques of the photography is very important. Many people seem to feel that the only setting on a digital camera is the “Auto” setting and that everything else is just so much technical stuff they don’t need to bother about. While this will generally produce good photos, there will be times when faded colors, shadows and reflections, among other things can ruin what would otherwise be a great picture. Taking control of your digital camera is not hard and if you follow these basic digital photography techniques you will have begun to realize the true potential of your camera.
A common problem with digital cameras is having colors that look faded or lack warmth – this is caused by the white balance auto setting. When a camera is set to “Auto” the camera is programmed to balance the colors in a specific way and in the case of pictures taken in bright sunlight this may results in a balancing that makes some of the darker colors look faded. Try changing the setting from auto to “cloudy” as this will program the camera to accept deeper tones, especially for oranges, yellows and reds and give more life to your photos.

Photography is a good form of a personal memoir you can keep for many years or for a lifetime. For many years, people have used cameras to make photographs. Nowadays the digital camera is ubiquitous and is a favorite of most families. Since it is very user friendly most people have an affinity to it. Most digital devices are sensitive and require proper care and protection. In this article, you will discover some tips by which you can protect your digital camera.
The camera case is part of the camera package when you bought it, it is there for a reason, and that is to protect your camera when you are not using it. Camera come with a case to help in protecting your device from absorbing dust and dirt. A case will also protect your camera from scratches. Be very wary about returning the camera in its case after using it.
Purchase a screen protector at your local device store. It is the screen that is apparently the most sensitive part of your digital camera so a screen protector will be great. The reason for screen protectors is to, of course, shield the screen from any scratches.

One of the best tricks in capturing wonderful photos is the lighting. You can also utilize artificial lighting to capture photos. But sometimes the most brilliant shots you take will be with natural lighting. So in this article we are going to discover the different advantages between the different times of the day.
To start with, the time that most photographers adore taking shots at are either the early morning hours or the late afternoon hours. Photographers love this time because the sun is low and gives off a gold and orange light. Taking photographs at this time makes your photos have warmth you can’t capture any other time. If you have the opportunity of this time during photo shoots, make sure to take full advantage of it.
Some of the time you won’t have the advantage of selecting your time. At times you might be capturing a photo of a wedding in the middle of the day. Well you definitely won’t be able to take photos at any time. What you have to make sure to do is take the photos with the sun facing the subjects. This will prevent any shadows from appearing in your shots. By taking the photos with the sun behind you, you allow the sun to light the picture.

Event photography as a profession is very lucrative. Someone who shoots live events such as marriages, seminars, award ceremonies and music performances is known as an event photographer.
It is widely believed that event photography is a straightforward job, wherein all a person has to do is appear at the event and keep taking photographs every now and then. But, the truth is actually the opposite. An event photographer needs to have some key skills to succeed at his job, which he/she can hone through a variety of courses available for this purpose.
From the outside you may consider that as the photographer runs around just snapping that there is no method in their photography. At an event there is an aim in place that must be satisfied. Getting a large extended run of great top quality pictures requires skill and a great eye. Being quick off the mark is a must to snap all those unexpected shots.
The first skill that an event photographer must possess is creativity and it should be coupled with the ability to understand the mood of an event. For example, a wedding needs to be shot in an entirely different fashion than a sports event. Thus, the photographer must have the capability to creatively project the mood of an event through his photos.

In a person’s life, marriage is one of the most important events. Capturing the event in photographs will make it even more grand. Wedding photography and food photography usually go together, so choosing a photographer or studio to ensure all of these memories are captured can get quite challenging.
Getting a professional wedding and/or food photographer is actually quite easy. There are many things to consider, but the fundamentals would be finding out the person or company’s experience level, photographic style, price range, and even their personality.
It’s extremely simple to know how great your photographs will turn out by checking the photographer’s portfolio. Photographers’ studios usually showcase a lot of samples, depending on their specialty. A wedding photographer or company will of course show a lot of pictures from various weddings, a food photography specialist will display a lot of different artistic food photos, and so on.

One of the many ways you can make money as a photographer is to specialize on events. Weddings, christenings, and lots of other events where people create memories can be lucrative business. The great thing is that all you need is a good digital camera, tons of memory cards, and some business cards.
How to do it
You must be careful what events to cover if you want to make money. Only where people want to retain memories will it be worth your while.
One idea is to go to kids sports events. Get permission from the coach to click pics for the parents watching and then start clicking away. If you turn up with a wopping big telephoto lens like the ones used for pro coverage of events, you will be taken seriously. Make sure you get all the children doing great action shots and then hand out flyers to all the kids’ parents watching with your web address. If you can get hold of the parents email address so you can email them the URL of you site then upload the pics to your web site that day and email everyone. If you have a simple shopping cart set up you can make money in a few hours as people pop in to see the pics and buy them for $20 or more a pop.

You are creating something that people will keep for years to come. You are capturing a very special moment in people’s lives. Your clients – the bride and groom to be – will want the best and will want the quality guaranteed. If you choose to be a wedding photographer you can make a lot of money by doing so. With the money comes the risk which you must manage well.
A disclaimer should be included in a well written up first time contract. A disclaimer is something that can prevent you from being sued later on. For example, you should include that you are not responsible for pictures that might get lost after you send the film away to get developed, or pictures that do not come out clear due to equipment failure. You do not want to be sued for breaching your contract.
Now with that said you should also include how many pictures are to be taken and how long you will be photographing for and what hourly rate will be. Something else you should include would be the fees for developing and the fee of the album. Your client’s requirements are important so make sure you talk it over with them. They might want a certain person or family they would like pictures of since they don’t get to see them often, so that should be discussed as well if it is an issue.
