Make Sure You Decide Your Style of Wedding
Right after you say “I do” and you have set a date for the wedding you must decide the style of the wedding theme. This decision will affect every aspect of your wedding and reception. Determining your personal style is very much dependant on your personal tastes and your creativity.
Once you tell family and friends that you are getting married many will have opinions about what sort of wedding you need to have. From the wild and far out to the very traditional are likely to be the opinions of family and friends. While you need to consider what others say, this is your wedding and needs to convey your personal style. You need to determine the layout of the wedding, the colors, and the other details and they need to be what you want.
One major decision you need to make early on is the choice of location. Depending on your ultimate goals the location might best be a traditional choice such as a church or possibly a casual setting such as a garden. Besides the choice being one based on your particular style practical considerations such as weather and the time of the year will also play a part. You also need to keep in mind that with a little imagination you can make a stiff formal setting such as a church into a casual setting.
Next you need to focus on your personal style. What kind of person are you? Are you whimsical and fun like a beach or more conservative and stylish. Do you like traditional or are you more contemporary? This will decide everything from the menu to the music that gets played. By incorporating your personal style into every detail of your wedding it will come off as a coordinated event that your guests will remember for years to come.
To help get you in the mood I am going to present five different style and maybe help you hone in on the one you want to adopt for your wedding. Keep in mind that besides your style it also has to be practical as to a budget and still appeal to everyone involved in the wedding.
* Garden style-is best suited for a wedding that will be held during a time of the year with mild to warm temperatures. I have seen beautiful garden weddings held in people’s backyards as well as extravagant affairs held at a botancial garden with an outdoor wedding and an indoor reception. This sort of style will be open and airy and has a very natural feel. How you decorate and how much you decorate will help you to incorporate your own personal style in this type of setting.
* Of course probably the most enduring of wedding styles is the classic style. A church decorated with gorgeous pew bows and beautiful flower arrangements that run up and down the altar. This is followed by a reception lit up with your colors shown in the many decorations you choose.
* Beach style-is still a very contemporary theme that has not faded in popularity with time. You are not limited to actually having a beach wedding by the ocean. Any outdoor area with some space can be decorated to give it that beach feel.
* For those who really really want something memorable getting married in an unusual place may be just what you want. I am sure you have seen some of the better ones on tv. From getting married at Walmart to jumping from a plane these sort of weddings are very memorable.
* Or following in the unusual style you can even go to more exotic locations. The Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, anywhere far off and fun. This sort of wedding is obviously heavily dependant on your budget and the finances of your guests.
No matter what sort of wedding you decide on be sure that it reflects you. Do not let others hijack your wedding day. If at no other time in your life it needs to reflect you own personal sense of style.
