We know that art photography usually refers to high-quality archival prints of photographs that are reproduced in limited numbers, and sold to dealers, collectors or curators. Occasionally the prints may be exhibited in an art gallery, but not always. These photographs are usually created to fulfill the creative vision of the photographer. They are an art form, photographed and printed for their own aesthetic value. They may be in color, or black and white.
Good art photography is not so much about technique as it is about self- expression. It is the process of seeing the image that you want, than recording or photographing it to share. Your eye-what you see as well as what you can envision, is more important than fancy cameras and equipment. Many art photographers even prefer using older cameras or even pinhole cameras to achieve the image they see in their mind’s-eye.
The current trend in art photography seems to be staged photographs. This involves careful positioning of the subject or object and pre-set lighting. There are several well-known photographers who shoot art photography in this manner, including Gregory Crewdson and Cindy Sherman.

If a person has an interest in photography as a hobby, as a future profession or simply because it is a requirement in their art studies then attending a photography class would be a good idea for a number of reasons. There are many aspects of photography to consider as it is not just about getting lucky with a random snap. Good photos are usually foreseen by the artist before they even take a picture, they should know what the outcome will be. Many people that attend photography class as a hobby use their skills to enter competitions because during the classes, they realize that they have the talent that real photography requires.
A photography program is designed to teach everything about photography to the student, from the use of the camera to developing the film. Thought must be put into pictures whether they are planned or spontaneous as the photographer must comprehend issues like lighting and shadow. Many people who attend one photography class will go on to attend more advanced classes. There are some professional photography programs that train students for a number of years in order to prepare them to work as photographers, freelance or otherwise. Both theory and practice are essential in a photography class and professional programs offer specialized subjects such as photojournalism and fashion photography.

Macro photography is concerned with taking close up pictures of small objects. This can provide an unusual view of an object; sometimes it can even be hard to tell what the object is because it is rarely seen so clearly. A macro lens is essential in the use of macro photography. Using a normal lens can make close up pictures look blurry and disappointing. Macro photography can provide a way to view pictures of small creatures such as insects close enough to see the details and patterns on their skin. Knowledge of photography in general should make the use of macro photography much simpler for an individual. Using macro photography to get 1:1 image sized results of small objects means that the enlargements to the photos can look truly spectacular.
When the lens gets close to the subject and the image gets larger on the film, less light reaches the film. This gives the need for flash in order to gain appropriate illumination of the shot. The depth of field also lessens and camera shake is more obvious in the final outcome. A need for steadiness becomes more important and the use of a tripod is usually advised. A mechanical attachment can also be added to the tripod to allow clean movements of the camera and enabling the final focus to be easily achieved. A timer should then be used so that the camera does not need to be touched and unsettled during the vital picture taking second.

Some people think the techniques of the photography is very important. Many people seem to feel that the only setting on a digital camera is the “Auto” setting and that everything else is just so much technical stuff they don’t need to bother about. While this will generally produce good photos, there will be times when faded colors, shadows and reflections, among other things can ruin what would otherwise be a great picture. Taking control of your digital camera is not hard and if you follow these basic digital photography techniques you will have begun to realize the true potential of your camera.
A common problem with digital cameras is having colors that look faded or lack warmth – this is caused by the white balance auto setting. When a camera is set to “Auto” the camera is programmed to balance the colors in a specific way and in the case of pictures taken in bright sunlight this may results in a balancing that makes some of the darker colors look faded. Try changing the setting from auto to “cloudy” as this will program the camera to accept deeper tones, especially for oranges, yellows and reds and give more life to your photos.

The Marriott Hotel Regents Park, otherwise known as the Marriott Swiss Cottage, was the venue for the fantastic wedding of Hannah & Grant.
I had worked with Grant’s family many years before when I covered his brother’s Barmitzvah, and Grant mentioned to me how he and Hannah would love me to cover their son’s Barmitzvah one day if they are lucky enough to have a son. How lovely is that? Now I really feel part of the family.
The weather was just perfect, and one of the highlights of the day was the few quiet moments we had going around St John’s Wood after the ceremony to take some outdoor photos. St John’s Wood is where I grew up, so we started off with the location that was the view from my childhood bedroom window; the Abbey Road Zebra Crossing, made infamous by the Beetles in 1969. Hannah & Grant crossed the Zebra crossing (with their shoes on) to the delight of all the tourists who had gathered there.
Thereafter we went to Violet Hill where there is a beautiful, intimate, little park. The sun was setting behind the trees and the sky was all different shades of gold which made a wonderful backdrop for some romantic shots.

The camera case is part of the camera package when you bought it, it is there for a reason, and that is to protect your camera when you are not using it. Camera come with a case to help in protecting your device from absorbing dust and dirt. A case will also protect your camera from scratches. Be very wary about returning the camera in its case after using it.
Purchase a screen protector at your local device store. It is the screen that is apparently the most sensitive part of your digital camera so a screen protector will be great. The reason for screen protectors is to, of course, shield the screen from any scratches.

A photograph centering on a person or small group’s facial expression while they are in a still position is known as a portrait, or portraiture. The person or group’s personalities, moods and likeness emerge through. Portrait photography doesn’t always have to be just a face inside a picture; the entire body and the background can be included as well. When shooting a portrait photograph the person or group is usually looking straight into the camera.
Unlike other styles of photography, portrait photography doesn’t usually include professional models. Graduations, special events & weddings are types of occasions where portrait photography is used, and later displayed in private homes. Many are done on studio with several settings to choose from.
History of Portrait Photography
People have been using portrait photography ever since the camera was invented. Having your portrait painted was expensive and not as available. Natural light was used from an open window and people would sit against the background. With technology’s innovations photographers have the ability to take pictures with less exposure time giving them more freedom to move around & create new styles of portrait photography.

Corporate photography holds an important place in any organization’s operations as it serves a number of important purposes. From publicity in the form of advertisements in the print media to product brochures, an organization always requires a good photographer to project the right image.
One of the corporate photographer’s most noteworthy tasks is to project a progressive picture of the organization before clients and shareholders by clicking the necessary photographs for its yearly report. Such reports act like a showpiece for any organization to proudly present its performance in the past year. An organization report presented with flashy photographs acts as a good image-building tool that effectively highlights the company’s reputation before the staff and customers.
Company brochures can be made eye catching by including colourful and attractive photos so that they create a great impact on viewers, when distributed in career fairs or at universities. Brochures projecting a good image of your organization’s work environment can attract worthy aspirants willing to work with your firm. A corporate photographer with his photography skills can portray an impressive image of the company before the candidates.
